Moniepoint POS terminal can be blocked due to two major reasons; multiple incorrect PIN entries and inactive terminal for a very long period of time. However, if your POS terminal get blocked due to incorrect PIN entries, it happened and was implemented to prevent unauthorized access to the POS terminal.
To unblock your Moniepoint POS terminal in Nigeria, follow these steps:
- Turn ON the POS terminal and login to your Moniepoint Business Account via the business banking app. You can also login on the web via atm.moniepoint.com.
- However, make sure you're signing into the Moniepoint business account linked to the blocked POS machine.
- Once you're in the business account dashboard, navigate to "Security" under the "Settings" Menu.
- Under the "Security" page, click on "Reset Transaction PIN".
- You'll be required to confirm your action by inputting your "Moniepoint's Login Password"
- Now, type-in your preferable "new PIN". It's usually 5-digits PIN.
- Confirm the PIN and then click on "Submit"
- Now, restart the POS machine and input the new PIN to Unblock the Terminal.
- These steps are also the steps to reset your "Moniepoint Business PIN"
You may also need to reset your Moniepoint POS PIN for security reasons if you suspect someone knows it, or for convenience if you forgot it. Entering the wrong PIN three times even locks your terminal, requiring a reset to regain access.
Lastly, to prioritize security, consider resetting your PIN periodically, especially if your terminal is used publicly.
